Today I want to share a recipe I found in a beautiful Spanish Blog for the making of a natural household cleaner. Who would like to be in direct contact with all these harmful, toxic and very polluting household cleanings instead of a really good scented and antibacterial natural cleaner made by oneself? Our house represents an extension of ourselves and thus we need to take care of it as we do with our body, mind and soul. Sooo let's make the Lemon&Rosemary Mist! This month I invite you to make this very simple and easy DIY recipe.
Ingredients:
1 glass bottle or jar with hermetic closure
1 (glass if possible) spray bottle
1 cup of white vinegar
1 cup of purified water
Fresh lemon zest
1 tsp salt
2-3 rosemary little branches
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Essencials oils: 2 drops of lemon, 1 drop of rosemary (this is optional)
Put into the jar/bottle the lemon zest and the salt and leave it to stand for 30 minutes. Then add the vinegar, rosemary, vanilla extract, and the essential oils. Shake the mixture and allow to macerate for at least 3 weeks, in the meantime, continue to shake every 2 days the mixture to help the vinegar to extract much better the active components. Once finished the maceration, filter the liquid pouring into the spray bottle, fill only halfway (reserve the lemon zest and rosemary branches) and top-up the bottle with the water.
In a saucepan, you can also boil (with water) the lemon zest and the rosemary after rinse them perfuming your home with a Fresh Spring Aroma.
Since now the cleaning will become more likely to be enjoyed, as you will feel cleaning flowers in a garden surrounded by this magical potion, anti lime, degreaser and anti bacterial.
If life throws you lemons make household products!
